Startpagina now has a gadget for Social Network sites

8 December 2009. The Startpagina gadget is available for popular sites such as Hyves, Facebook and iGoogle. The gadget opens up the wealth of information gathered in the nearly 6.000 daughter pages of Startpagina, such as messages on bulletin boards, events, video's and the latest news on all subjects. 

Through this gadget Startpagina opens up its wealth and diversity of content currently only within its own network to other sites. "We want to show visitors that in this day and age that we now also deliver information to your online 'home' instead of only expecting users to come and visit us. For example: to read information on over 2.300 bulletin boards or to add an item to the event calendar," according to Jeppe van Pruissen, product manager at Startpagina. "Administrators of the daughter pages play a central role. They are becoming more and more a community manager regarding a certain subject, instead of the administrator of a collection of links."

The gadget is available on several daughter pages and can be found under the heading 'on this page', Via the menu the gadget can be placed on social networks and sites. Examples of the gadgets are concert.startpagina.nl/gadget and festival.startpagina.nl/gadget.

Startpagina has commissioned Beemway for the development and distribution of the gadget.
